The Bruce Community Future Development Corporation is embarking on a Senior Analysis Study.
Spokesperson Amanda Farrell says the project will study our aging baby boomers and what needs to be in place to serve them better in the years to come.
The study will include community consultation, and stakeholder input.
It will cover all of Bruce County as well as Owen Sound.
It’s not known yet how much the study will cost, but Farrell says it will be significant.
Farrell says the findings will not only better prepare the County and City for the aging baby boomers, but it also promises to identify business opportunities.
The study will examine everything from health care needs to retail opportunities.
Farrell says once the recommendations from the study are implemented — we should be better able to cater to the needs of seniors but also possibly attract new ones to relocate to our region.
