Kincardine is set to host the 11th annual Scottish Festival and Highland Games.
Event Manager Diahanne Thomson says things get underway at 3 PM Friday when vendors open for business at Victoria Park.
The music begins at 7:30 PM and official opening ceremonies will be held at 8 PM.
Thomson says 28 bands are competing along with 170 dancers.
In addition the heavy events of the Highland Games will be taking place at St. Anthony’s.
Thomson says they can’t put a number on the economic benefits of the event to the community but thousands of people from outside the area visit the festival and shop and eat in Kincardine.
She says one of the highlights again this year will be the “Loch Huron’s Parade of the Clans,” Saturday at 11 AM.
Thomson says the huge parade will begin at the Royal Canadian Legion on Lambton Street and travel east to Queen Street and then south on Queen to the grounds at Victoria Park.
Tickets to this year’s three-day event are 25 dollars for a weekend pass or 10 dollars for a day pass.
Tickets can be purchsed at the gate.
