Not only are Hanover residents using clear garbage bags — the same rules apply in Brockton.
As of July 1st — coloured garbage bags will no longer be accepted at the curbside.
Brockton Councillor Charlie Reidl says it should be a smooth transition for residents because if they recycle — it shouldn’t be a problem.
Any clear garbage bags with recyclables in it will NOT be collected.
Reidl says the new program will not only encourage people to recycle, it will also extend the life of their landfill.
Hanover has also adopted the same rules.
