It’s a mixed story if you are heading to the beach for a dip this weekend.
The good news is those “unsafe for swimming” signs have come down at Sauble Beach and it is okay to go in the water.
The Grey Bruce Health Unit posted signs on June 25th, after bacteria levels peaked at 28 hundred.
They declined to 200 by Wednesday, and are now under the provincial standard of 100.
However — the health unit says Station Beach at Kincardine has just been posted because of high levels of bacteria in the water.
The water will be re-tested on Monday and if found to be below the Provincial bacteriological standards, a second test will be completed on Tuesday .
Officials say if the second test is okay, then the posting will be lifted by the Health Unit.
It is the latest beach to have high bacteria levels.
Also on the list, Bayshore Beach next to the Bayshore community centre in Owen Sound, and the Durham Conservation Area East Dam beach have also been posted today as unsafe.
Northwinds Beach at Craigleith was posted earlier this week when bacteria levels were found to be higher than the accepted provincial standard.
Northwinds, Bayshore, Durham Conservation East Dam and Station Park beach will all be posted as unsafe for swimming right thru the weekend.
