Unsafe Swim Advisory signs remain posted at Sauble Beach.
The Grey Bruce Health Unit had hoped to take clean samples from the water at Sauble Beach to remove unsafe swimming signs by Canada Day.
But the advisory that started last Friday remains in effect.
Testing by the Health Unit shows that bacteria levels have significantly decreased.
The levels have decreased from 28 hundred to 200 — which is the Canadian standard.
However, the provincial standard is 100, and signs will remain posted.
If you do ignore the signs and decide to go swimming — hopefully you don’t swallow a lot of water — because if you do — you could suffer from gastrointestinal issues.
There is still no source of the bacteria although local residents contend a film crew shooting a documentary at Sauble last week caused the issue.
A Bruce Peninsula OPP officer spotted a member of the crew dumping a portable sewage tank into a ditch along the Southampton parkway last Wednesday.
The Ministry of Environment is now investigating.
