Grey Roots Museum outside Owen Sound wants you to help them celebrate the annual opening of the Moreston Heritage Village.
Heritage Interpretation Supervisor Petal Furness says they’ve got a full slate of activities lined up today from 10 AM to 5 PM.
Guided tours of the log cabin, log house, farm house, garage, schoolhouse, and bandstand will be available.
Furness says there will also be a special ribbon cutting ceremony at 1 PM for the new George Rice Blacksmith Shop.
Furness says also new this year are hands on activities and games such as spinning and croquet at every building in the village.
Over 30 staff and volunteers will be on site in pioneer costumes demonstrating the activities and offering the tours.
Furness says games, crafts, and a scavenger hunt are also available for the kids, while live music will be provided by the band Horsefeathers.
Horse rides and refreshments will also be available throughout the day.
Furness says there’s also lots to check out inside the Museum including a new aboriginal art exhibit featuring the work of Tim Mohan.
After today’s annual opening celebration, the Moreston Heritage Village will be open every day of the week 10 AM to 5 PM until Labour Day.
