Bluewater school board officials have tightened their belts about as far as they can in order to get to a balanced budget for 2010-11.
Business Superintendant Brenda Booth says they started out with a more than 4.7 million dollar gap between revenues and expenditures, but have reduced that gap to zero.
The final budget numbers will go to the full board meeting today.
Booth says the nearly 193 million dollar school board budget includes just over 100 million in classroom teacher salaries.
The board shaved 772 thousand dollars from the plant operations budget, along with 80 thousand dollars with the removal of 10 portable classrooms in the Bluewater system.
300 thousand dollars was saved by not buying laptop computers for all teachers until late in the year.
Booth says no programs are being cut, but she says the board is backed into a corner for 2011-12 with no more cuts possible without getting into programs.
She is hoping the province comes up with more cash for the next budget year.
