More money for cancer research is about to be raised in the Port Elgin area.
The Huron Shores All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) Club is holding it’s 2nd annual ATV ride for cancer on Saturday.
Club President Jim Tilker says the event will go rain or shine.
Participants are asked to show up at the staging area on the 6th concession, just south of Port Elgin from 9 AM to 11 AM.
Tilker says the first run gets underway at 9:15 AM.
He says last year they had 36 machines and raised 56 hundred dollars for the Bluewater Unit in Owen Sound.
Tilker says this year they’re shooting for 50 machines raising seven thousand dollars.
The ATV ride goes from Port Elgin to Mildmay and takes about five hours to complete.
Those interested in taking part can register on-site but you must have a licence, the machine must be plated and insured and it must have a trail pass.
Day trail passes can be purchased at the registration site.
Following the ride, there’ll be a BBQ with lots of prizes to be given away.
