Wireless internet access is now available at all 19 of Bruce County’s libraries.
Assistant Director Ken MacLeod says the free service was made available recently.
He says more and more people are using wireless internet devices, like iPods and laptops, so it was important that the library be able to offer the service.
MacLeod says the library benefits when the branches become more useful.
He says many people like to go where it is comfortable and convenient to use the Internet, and now the libraries fit that bill.
MacLeod says it’s a great bonus for residents, but it also makes it easier for visitors to stop in and check their e-mails and surf the Web.
Being able to do it on their own personal device also makes it more secure.
The Bruce County Public Library is also hoping to unveil a new website soon, that will be more user-friendly than the current one.
