The race is on for mayor of Brockton.
Councillor David Inglis has decided to seek the top job in the town, and is challenging incumbent Mayor Charlie Bagnato.
Inglis feels he has proven leadership abilities based on his 12 years on the former Bruce county board of education, two of those as chairman.
He has been on municipal council for only one term, but Inglis feels he has something to contribute to the community.
He says Mayor Bagnato has his eye on another job, already admitting he would run for the Liberals in Huron Bruce if a Federal election is called.
Councillor Inglis says it is time for a strong vision for the future, and a top priority would be a new strategic plan for Brockton.
He also says the town needs to be pro-active, and not simply reactive to events that happen.
The 64 year old Mayoral candidate topped the polls in the last municipal election.
Inglis is a retired dairy farmer who lives in the former Brant Township.
