Five years ago, Saugeen Shores got its very own radio station–98 the Beach.
Today and tomorrow — we’re celebrating this special anniversary.
Station Operations Manager Mike Brough says beginning at 10 AM — 98 the Beach is hosting an open house and barbecue.
Everyone is welcome to drop by and say hello and grab a bite to eat/
Brough also says tours of 98 the Beach are being offered.
He says radio is still theatre of the mind and a bit of mystery to many people.
This is an opportunity for everyone to meet the voices heard on the air and to see how the operation works.
The 5th anniversary celebrations will continue tomorrow as well with a “live” Beach Party at the Lakeshore Recreation Centre.
Host Daryl MacLean will be live as he presents the best music of the past for dancing.
Tickets to the event are 10 dollars and can be purchased at 98 the Beach.
