Fire service in Tiverton is not being affected by the recent discovery of mould at the Tiverton office.
Kincardine deputy mayor Laura Haight says the office area of the station is closed off but few people are in that building anyway, since the fire department is a volunteer one.
She says the Kincardine office handles the bulk of administration for Tiverton anyway and emergency personnel are ready if needed.
The mould in the building was found recently during maintenance work and Kincardine council has since approved a 50 thousand dollar budget to get it cleaned up.
Fire chief Jamie MacKinnon had asked for 25 thousand dollars but Haight says the additional will be there in case of cost overruns.
Haight says the money will come from a reserve fund and will not affect taxpayers in any way this year.
Haight says the focus right now is getting the mould out of the office and then looking at what caused it.
She says it could be perimeter drainage or other options down the road.
Haight says the clean up will start soon and take about four weeks to clean up.
