The first budget public meeting will be held at 6 PM tonight at the municipal office in Teeswater.
Council and staff have a surplus of around 200 thousand dollars from last year to help this year’s numbers.
It will help make up for a loss of 170 thousand dollars in Ontario Municipal Partnership Funding.
Mayor Bill Goetz says cuts to services are likely.
He notes if they were to maintain all of their services — they would have to raise taxes by seven per cent this year.
Another budget meeting is scheduled for February 18th.
