Ontario’s Progressive Conservative Leader was in Kincardine rolling out his new Small Business Jobs Plan.
One of the ideas in the plan is to suspend the payroll tax.
Hudak says why the McGuinty Government would want to tax a new business when they’re finally hiring someone in this job crisis era – is beyond him.
Suspending the land transfer tax is also in the plan, which Hudak says will help families afford a new home and kick start jobs in the construction sector.
Opposing McGuinty’s plan to merge the GST with PST is high on the plans list.
Hudak says slapping 8 per cent more on gas for your car or heat for your home will hurt the middle class and seniors.
The Progressive Conservatives plan to kill Bill-119.
Under Premier Dalton McGuinty’s leadership Hudak says the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board is out of control and if McGuinty doesn’t kill Bill-119 — a PC government will.
Hudak says it forces small construction firms to pay WSIB premiums on secretary’s or directors who never step foot on the construction site.
He says it basically works out to a tax of about 11 thousand dollars per business.
He also took a shot at the board which he says has created a much bigger unfunded liability and the liberal appointed chair has some expense abuses that have raised eyebrows right across the province.
Notepad in hand, Hudak was in Kincardine on Monday meeting with the Chamber of Commerce to discuss his plan and to hear their concerns.
