2011 is shaping up to be a good year for the Hanover Chamber of Commerce.
President Michele Hettrick says membership is up, a few new businesses have moved to town and there is an overall feeling of economic optimism in the air.
Hettrick is remaining at the helm of the Chamber for a third consecutive term.
Hettrick says it will allow her to oversee a number of Chamber initiatives that are already underway.
Hettrick says they are also planning more business breakfast and luncheon meetings and will change the some of the venues from restaurants to actual business locations.
She says the Chamber will also play a role in helping Hanover implement many of its Strategic Plan initiatives for this year.
Overall Hettrick says Hanover seems to holding its own in this challenging economic climate.
She say the resiliency and hard work of local merchants is paying off.
For the first time ever, Hettrick says the Chamber is going to offer a Business Awards program which will be unveiled at the 2012 annual Chamber Dinner and Meeting.
