The two Chambers of Commerce, within South Bruce Peninsula have received 60 thousand dollars each from the town.
The Sauble Chamber uses their money to help pay for their various summer campaigns.
The Wiarton Chamber will use the money to help finance the Canada Day festivities and the annual Wiarton Willie Festival.
Chamber treasurer Mel Rinehart, who was on hand for a recent town budget session says he’s happy with the money but could always use a bit more.
Rinehart says they’ll re-visit their books again to see what they have to do to keep the bar high for both the Canada Day and Wiarton Willie celebrations.
He says the town has asked the Chamber to take over Prediction Day in the Wiarton Willie Festival.
Rinehart says the town wants the Chamber to assume the costs and responsibilities of Groundhog Day.
