Now that the SIU has completed its investigation — Grey County OPP have released more information about the shooting at Grew Boats Manufacturing south of Rockford.
Police confirm the owner — 61 year old David Cameron — shot a 44 year old man who tried to intervene in an argument between Cameron and a woman.
Police say Cameron wouldn’t let a woman leave after the three employees returned from the Toronto Boat Show on February 21st.
The man was forced to flee when Police say Cameron fired shots from his rifle.
One of the shots hit the 44 year old man while others riddled his pickup truck.
The man called 9-1-1 while driving himself to hospital — and the woman escaped during the commotion to a nearby wooded area and later to an OPP cruiser that arrived on the scene.
That is when Cameron fled in his pickup truck that later stopped on the Taylor Side Road north of Kemble after driving over a spike belt.
Grey County OPP officers fired their guns at Cameron after he pointed a rifle at them.
Cameron was later found dead in a wooded area — and the Special Investigations Unit concludes Cameron shot himself.
The 44 year old male employee continues to recover from a gunshot wound.
