The Special Investigations Unit is looking into an incident involving the Hanover Police Service and the Walkerton OPP.
Shortly after 5 AM Sunday — Police were called to a residence on Tenth Street in Hanover for a disturbance involving a knife.
The Hanover Police officers contacted the Walkerton OPP for assistance.
While on the scene, one of the OPP officers deployed a TASER during an interaction with a 53 year old man.
A Hanover Police Officer also discharged his pistol at least once.
The SIU says the 53 year old man was taken to Hanover Hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound and is in stable condition.
The SIU is looking into the circumstance of this incident.
