Technology is again linking Grey-Bruce residents to health-care professionals.
This time, the Alzheimer’s Society of Grey-Bruce is hosting a learning and sharing forum at Seasons Retirement Community in Owen Sound.
The forum is actually being held in Toronto, but an internet link will allow residents here to see and listen to the speakers.
Hong says it will also give participants here a chance to ask questions and interact with the speakers in Toronto.
Hong says this forum is for people who have early-stage dementia and those who are helping to care for them.
She says it’s a great opportunity for them to get more information about the disease from professionals who they would normally have to travel to hear.
The internet session is being hosted by the Murray Alzheimer Research and Education Program.
It runs from 9 AM until 4 PM on Saturday at Seasons, and Hong says there is an option for lunch there as well, but you have to call ahead to pay for it.
The actual video-forum begins at 10 AM.
