The Owen Sound and District Chamber of Commerce has a new President following their Annual General Meeting.
For the Chamber’s 130th year, Joanne Horton was chosen as the new president.
Horton and a number of new Directors were sworn in at Tuesday night’s AGM at Stone Tree Golf and Fitness.
Horton is a partner at the full-service law firm of Horton & Horton, and the Owen Sound native thinks it’s a great opportunity to help bring out the best this area’s businesses have to offer — something she says has been lacking in the chamber.
As the voice of the business community, Horton hopes to help bring the chamber’s membership up from the current 515 members.
Also during the meeting, the chamber’s financial statements revealed a small deficit of $3,229.
