A bit of a scare for residents of an Owen Sound apartment complex.
Police arrested a 30 year old man Wednesday after he threatened to burn down his former girlfriend’s apartment after getting into an argument.
It got to the point where the woman’s neighbours confronted the suspect who was carrying a bucket of gasoline in the building and had a lighter in his pocket.
Police say if not for the other residents in the building, the outcome could have been horrific.
Police and firefighters attended the scene.
The man faces numerous charges including uttering threats and attempted arson.
The bucket of gasoline was poured outside but spilled in the carpet in the home and had to be ripped out.
