Business is booming for Georgian College, with the student population soaring at all seven campuses.
Vice President of Marketing and Student Services, Bob Kennedy, says the latest audit shows the number of students up 9.6 per cent in March compared to a year ago.
At the Owen Sound campus, Kennedy says there are 650 full time students which is up 25 per cent from last year.
He hopes to hit the one thousand mark in Owen Sound within a few years.
Kennedy tells Bayshore Broadcasting News that fortunately the College has been in an expansion mode for the last decade and is able to handle to boom in enrolment.
Since 2000 — the overall student population at the seven Georgian campuses is up 68.5 per cent.
Kennedy says the projection for the fall is a double digit increase.
That is partially related to the new campus in Collingwood now under construction….
Another reason for the growth in full time students at Georgian is the starting up of 10 new programs at Georgian, including Electrical techniques in Owen Sound.
