Saugeen Shores’ first ever Relay for Life set a high standard.
The final fundraising figure is in and the overnight event this summer raised a whopping 175 thousand 242 dollars.
Event Co-chair Nancy MacLeod is proud of the accomplishment by the 56 teams that took part and of the community.
The non competitive relay took place behind Saugeen District Secondary School Friday, June 26th.
Next year’s event is set for Friday, July 9th.
MacLeod says they are already planning for a bigger event with more survivors walking the track.
