Hanover is meeting with the Ministry of Municipal Affairs during the AMO conference in Ottawa.
Hanover is looking to the province for help with its desire to extend its boundaries into West Grey.
Mayor Kathi Maskell will be meeting with MPP Carol Mitchell the Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Municipal Affairs on August 17th to discuss the issue.
Its Maskells hope the province will be able to provide Hanover with some direction on how it should go about the process of trying to extend its boundaries.
An earlier request to acquire land from West Grey by Hanover was rejected this Spring.
Instead West Grey wants to enter into an agreement with Hanover that would see the town extend its water and sewer services into West Grey.
This is not an option Hanover is interested in entertaining.
Mayor Kathi Maskell says Hanover must act now noting that the town is losing out on new development and potential jobs.
She says these jobs would not only benefit Hanover but the entire area.
Maskell hopes MPP Carol Mitchell will be able to direct Hanover as to what route it should take in quest to extend its boundary under the provinces boundary expansion rules.
