The vast majority of Dickies factory workers who lost their job last January are said to be doing well.
The Dickies Action Centre reports that 99 per cent of former employees are either working, studying or pursuing other interests of their choosing.
As a result, the centre is now officially closing its doors.
Hanover Mayor Kathi Maskell calls this encouraging news.
She says Hanover was hit hard by the factory closure which resulted in 90 people losing their jobs.
Maskell says this just goes to show how resilient our local work force is and rural Ontario as a whole.
She’s confident that times are going to and are getting better for Hanover.
The Dickies Action Centre opened in February of 2010 to help those who lost their jobs when the factory closed in January of 2010, when it fell on tough economic times.
Dickies is known globally for its work wear attire.
