Employees at City Hall in Owen Sound are making a substantial donation to Regional Rec Centre.
They have pledged close to 20 thousand dollars through a payroll deduction program.
The employees are also challenging other government and public sector employees to join the fundraising campaign.
The goal of the campaign is to raise five million dollars — and the organizing committee has raised more than half of that total.
The 38.6 million dollar facility is being constructed at Victoria Park — and it’s expected to be complete next year.
The 125 thousand square foot rec centre will include two NHL-sized rinks, a health and fitness centre, a walking and running track and two pools.
