The ‘Save our School’ committee from Chesley is going to ‘hug it out’ in hopes of saving Chesley District High School.
The community group is staging a massive group hug at CDHS on Thursday and taking an aerial photograph to send to the school board and Accommodation Review Committee.
Co-Chair Brenda Scott says its all about letting both sides of the school review know how important CDHS is to the community.
Scott welcomes students and the community to join them at 11:30 AM to give the school a great big hug while a plane flies overhead and snaps a photo.
Scott says the photograph will be included in their presentation to the ARC at the March 10th meeting.
The group is recommending the ARC vote to keep Chesley District High open and but change it to a Kindergarten to Grade 12 school.
Scott says that kind of model has proved successful in Wiarton, Lions Head and Walkerton.
