The spring forecast from Environment Canada says we should be ready for a colder and wetter than normal March.
Senior Climatologist David Phillips says March will bring the temperature swings we have noticed so far during winter.
And Phillips says it will lead to more of a mixture of snow and rain.
Phillips says March will be colder than normal — but he notes the March cold is a lot different than the January cold — about 9 degrees warmer than January.
Phillips notes about 15 per cent of the annual snowfall in Grey Bruce falls in March.
We have also had 17 per cent less snow than normal this winter.
Phillips says we typically would have had 364 centimetres of snow by now — but stats show that number is only at 302 centimetres.
As for late Spring in May and June — Phillips says it looks as of right now that it will be warmer than normal.
