Once again this year, local art will be on display around Owen Sound.
The Owen Sound Art Banner Committee will be busy sifting through submissions from locals to choose 60 pieces to hang around the harbour walkways.
Today is the deadline to submit a piece.
Committee Member Kate McLaren says this year they have a bit of latitude this year because they are looking for photographed square images.
McLaren says that means if a piece is slightly horizontal or vertical it will still work on the banners.
And she says you don’t have to be a professional or well-known artist to submit a piece of work.
McLaren says when the committee evaluates the submissions, they are all anonymous so members don’t know whose art they are looking at.
Afterward, the artists’ names will be displayed on the banner with their work.
McLaren says they are also looking for sponsors — which costs 100 dollars to sponsor one banner.
