If you are looking to volunteer your time — you may want to consider St John’s Ambulance of Grey Bruce.
Spokesperson Tim Rees says they are always looking for volunteers for their first medical responders program.
Rees says this program is a higher level of first aid to help those in need before paramedics arrive.
The course takes 40 hours to complete and includes not only advanced first aid but also CPR.
He adds once all your training is complete the volunteer schedule works around your lifestyle.
The St John’s Ambulance is looking for volunteers not only in the Owen Sound area but in Hanover as well.
Rees says the Volunteer Medical First Responders program is perfect for those thinking of entering the medical field and several have gone on to be paramedics and police officers.
If you are interested in joining St John’s Ambulance — you can call their office in Owen Sound for more information. (519-376-4813).
The group holds meetings the last Wednesday of every month at the Owen Sound training Centre on 20th Street East.
