If you have recently lost your job, feel you don’t have up to date computer skills, or are thinking of going back to school — Pathways to Employment may be for you.
The free eight week program is geared to adults looking to make a career change or to get a better sense of what to expect should they decide to go back to school.
Program Manager Heather Renshaw says Pathways to Employment has been around for over five years – and has enjoyed great success.
Renshaw says 85 percent of program graduates have either moved on to further their education or have found employment.
She says enrolment numbers have been relatively high since the program was introduced.
The program is split into three areas: Professional Development, Computer Skills, and Workplace Math and Communications.
Renshaw says the computer aspect is especially important as computer skills are needed in almost every realm of employment or post secondary education programs.
The program runs at the Georgian College Owen Sound Campus starting on March 7th.
It is a free program for people 19 years of age or older who meet eligibility requirements.
