This is heart month — and Fitness Funatics Training Studio in Port Elgin is gearing up for a four hour marathon of activities sure to get your heart pumping.
The studio will host a Fit for Heart event, in support of the Heart and Stroke Foundation Saturday from 1 PM to 5 PM.
Fit For Heart Program Coordinator Jody Johnson says the FUN Attack event will focus on kickboxing, cycling, boot camp and TRX suspension training.
She adds the exercise component is just one of the benefits, as this event is also aimed at raising money for vital heart and stroke research.
Johnson says it is important for people to get physically active, as it decreases the risk of heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes and helps improve our overall health.
The program is aimed at helping people make lifestyle changes, as 60 per cent of people in Grey Bruce are physically inactive or obese.
You can register through the Fitness Funatics studio in Port Elgin, or online at Fit for Heart dot ca.
Space is limited and 100 dollars in pledges will guarantee you a spot.
