One of the first fall fairs is set for this weekend in Hanover.
The Hanover, Bentinck and Brant Agricultural Fall Fair runs Friday through Sunday at Hanover Raceway.
Secretary Treasurer Doreen Rogers says what is different about this fair is that is is completely free.
Rogers says the reason they decided to do away with admission a few years back is because of the location.
She notes the raceway is very hard to maintain gates with, plus it makes the fair more economical family fun.
Rogers says Hanover is very agriculture based so the fair focuses on the farming community with 4-H exhibits, sheep shows, heavy horse pulls and more.
There is a lot of entertainment including Thornley and The Trews on Friday night — and tickets for the concert are 30 dollars at the door.
Rogers says there are plenty of free activities for children on Saturday including a magic show and parade as well as a pet show.
She also says there are the always popular home craft displays and the midway.
Rogers says although they don’t keep attendance, she feels the fair is as popular as ever.
