The Owen Sound Regional Rec Centre has received it’s largest donation to date.
Owen Sound Ledgerock is making a 150 thousand dollar cash donation — and will be gifting the Bruce County limestone which will wrap around the entire building.
All together — a 300 thousand dollar donation.
Tom Stobbe — the President of Owen Sound Ledgerock — says the region needs the Rec Centre for growth.
Stobbe also has a personal interest as his daughter is an avid figure skater – and a long standing member of the Owen Sound Skating Club.
Rec Centre Fundraising Co-Chair Sonya Mount says everything is on schedule as far as construction goes.
So far, the Regional Rec Centre Campaign Committee has raised 2.6 million dollars.
