An Owen Sound school is receiving high praise from the Ministry of Education.
The Ministry is hailing the St. Basils full day learning program as a leader in the province.
Assistant Deputy Minister to Full Day Learning Jim Greaves recently visited the Owen Sound primary School.
He is now encouraging other school boards to visit the school to see the full day learning model for themselves.
St. Basils will begin offering the full day kindergarten program this September.
Superintendent of Education Catherine Montreuil is pleased the program is garnering the provinces support.
She credits the provinces high praise due to the Boards initiative to tour other schools across the province – find out what works and what doesnt and put together a model for Bruce Grey.
In the meantime the school is about to undergo undergoing a million dollar addition project this Spring to house three new kindergarten classrooms.
Come September the school will bustling with energy as it offers full day learning to five kindergarten classrooms.
