It seems people are catching on to the so-called “grandparent scam”.
South Bruce OPP say they were told by a Kinloss Township resident on Friday that they were contacted on the phone by a young man claiming to have been involved in a car crash.
The caller asked for three-thousand dollars and when asked to provide more details he just told the intended victim that nobody needed to know and to just send the money.
Police say the target of the scam ended the call and contacted police.
The OPP continue to investigate.
