Construction is holding steady in Owen Sound.
Numbers for the month of January show that 15 building permits were issued for a total construction value of almost 171 thousand dollars ($170,950).
That’s little changed from last year at this time, where 13 permits were issued with a total value of $178,500.
Commercial projects worth over 151 thousand dollars are again leading construction values in 2011, continuing a trend from the end of last year.
The biggest permit issued was 75 thousand dollars for interior renovations to a downtown building on 2nd Avenue East.
There were no new home starts.
In January of 2010, residential builds were leading the construction values.
