Hanover recreation fees are on the rise.
The two per cent increase will impact everything from swim memberships and ice time to facility rental and recreation programming costs.
Director of Parks and Recreation Sherri Walden calls the increase the price of doing business.
Even so, she notes Hanover is not making a profit on any of these increases.
Instead Walden says the rates reflect programming cost.
In many cases Walden says the fees fall short of the actual cost and the taxes make up the difference.
But Walden adds they offer quality programs and the cost should not be a factor.
Individual swim rates are the only recreational activity not impacted by the two per cent hike.
Every other program however is subject to the increase.
This includes swim memberships, swimming lessons, summer camp, ice surface time, facility rental rates and the use of the athletic fields or ball diamonds.
