It’s normally a given that stormy winter weather results in a lot of car accidents.
Fortunately, Grey County OPP report a lower number of collisions during this weeks big winter storm than on a typical fair weather day.
In fact, officers only responded to one collision throughout the entire day, which did not involve any injuries.
A car had struck a snow plow from behind on Highway 6 south of Shallow Lake.
Elsehwere, there were just a few reports of vehicles striking snow banks or simply getting stuck.
The Grey County OPP are crediting the media for keeping drivers informed about road conditions and closures.
They say many drivers chose to stay off the roads, thus keeping traffic volumes well below normal for most of the day.
