The CEO of the Bruce County library system is now an award-winning CEO.
Marzio Appolloni was presented with a “Lifetime Achievement” award during the Ontario Library Association annual conference in Toronto on Wednesday.
On hand to lend support was the chair of the Bruce County Library committee Mitch Twolan from Huron Kinloss.
Twolan says the award is a very distinguished honour and speaks volumes for the work Appoloni has done for the Bruce County library system.
Twolan says Appoloni is a known advocate for libraries in rural Ontario and the importance of such facilities in smaller communities.
Twolan says since he himself became chair of the library committee in Bruce County, he’s come to learn that libraries in rural communities are a central focal point for the residents.
He says libraries are as important as community halls or schools in smaller communities.
