Tie up your walking shoes and get out to support the Alzheimers Society of Grey-Bruce.
The 14th annual Walk for Memories takes place today at three locations around our region.
Executive Director Bill Twaddle says registration begins at 9 AM, and if you haven’t signed up yet, you can do so at any of the locations this morning.
Twaddle says it’s a great way to get your family or friends together, or to do some team building with work colleagues while raising money to support a great cause.
The walk will be held indoors at Saugeen District Secondary in Port Elgin, West Hill Secondary in Owen Sound, and Hanover Heights Community School in Hanover.
Twaddle says that’s great because it allows everybody of all ages to get involved.
All of the money raised will go towards the Alzheimers Society, and Twaddle says they depend largely on donations to continue functioning.
He says they want to be an organization people can turn to at anytime for support.
Twaddle says they have resources not only for patients, but for family members and caregivers as well.
The walk-a-thon kicks off at 10 AM.
