The MP for Bruce Grey Owen Sound doesn’t like attack ads — but Larry Miller says they are here to stay.
Miller defended his Conservative government’s attack ads against Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff on Friday on the CFOS Open Line.
Miller tells Bayshore Broadcasting News he doesn’t like attack ads at all — but he says unfortunately they work.
He points to the 2004 ads by Paul Martin and the Liberals who branded Stephen Harper as someone you can’t trust with a hidden agenda.
Miller says the Prime Minister is still branded that way today.
The Conservative MP doesn’t think the attack ads would hurt his campaign in Bruce Grey Owen Sound.
Miller says he has always campaigned fairly and on the issues and he doesn’t have plans to change that.
Miller is also optimistic there will NOT be a spring federal election.
Miller feels there is a 50-50 chance of one — but he also believes either the NDP or the Bloc Quebecois will support the Conservative government’s budget.
