A snag has been hit in the plan to expand the Chesley medical clinic.
The 1.3 million dollar project will provide much more space for doctors working at the Family Health Team.
Arran Elderslie Mayor Paul Eagleson says the hold-up is they don’t own the land, where the expansion was to take place.
Eagleson says the hospital owns the property, and it was simply an oversight of having the land transferred to the municipality.
He says they’ll meet with the Building committee, the Architect and the Hospital board tonight in Chesley.
The mayor doubts there will be a problem, since Hospital officials had indicated they would donate the land, but no formal agreement was signed.
Arran Elderslie was planning on awarding tenders this month but Eagleson says it will be February or March before that happens.
He still thinks construction can begin this Spring and the work should be done by sometime this Fall.
