A performer at the Word Aloud Festival in Durham this past summer liked the area so much, he is making a stop in Grey County before heading to Los Angeles.
CR Avery is known for his enthusiastic and creative intelligent performances as a one man band focusing on spoken word and folk.
Liz Zetlin — the Artistic Director of Words Aloud — says Avery is a mix of Bob Dylan, Little Walter and the Beastie Boys.
Zetlin says it is because of how much he loved the festival this past summer he is returning to the Williamsford Mill Great Books and Cafe for a performance and then a workshop.
Zetlin says Avery will be performing tonight starting at 7 PM and will feature all of his popular pieces.
He will then be back on Sunday to hold an impromptu performance and workshop so that you can write a piece and then Avery will back you up as you perform.
This weekend will be the last time Avery will be in the area for quite some time as he leaves Ontario to head to Los Angeles and then a European tour.
The Sunday event runs at Noon at the Mill as well.
Zetlin says this is a rare opportunity to see such a talented artist outside of the festival in this area.
Tickets are $10 each for the Saturday and then Sunday is a give as you can event.
You can purchase tickets by calling the mill (519-794-4625).
