The Hanover Family Health Team is in its new home and open for business.
The Family Health Team has relocated from the medical clinic and is now in the newly renovated west wing of the Hanover and District Hospital.
Executive Director David Ford says the Health Team roster continues to grow and now includes a social worker, a registered nurse, a dietician and a psychology counsellor.
An addictions counsellor and occupational therapist will join the team this month.
In the meantime — the Health Team is in the process of recruiting a nurse practitioner, a pharmacist, a podiatrist and two clerical staff.
Ford says the goal of the Family Health Team is to enhance local health care by filling in service gaps and provide quick easy access to primary health care services.
This includes offering free health and wellness workshops to the public — from prenatal classes to stress management.
Those with a Hanover family physician can self refer themselves to the Family Health Team.
The health and wellness workshops are open to everyone.
