A large waterfront property is on the market in Owen Sound, as the Family Y prepares for its’ move this spring into the new Regional Rec centre.
CEO Gayle Graham says the 32 thousand square foot facility along the river is being offered for tender.
Bidders have until April 20th to present offers on the fitness centre, the employment community services building, and an adjacent rental property.
Graham says the facility is in good shape, and she is hopeful someone will buy it for residential or commercial use.
There is a restriction on the tender process, that prevents a new buyer from setting up a fitness centre, with Graham adding the pool is old and should be decommissioned.
Graham says there has been significant interest in the property and she hopes to have it sold late this spring or early in the summer.
The nearby Child Care Centre is not being sold by the Y.
The new facility will give the Family Y two pools, a lane pool, a gym equal in size to the existing space, a cycling studio and fitness studio.
