The average price of a home in Grey and Bruce Counties took a tumble in January.
100 homes were sold last month and the Realtors Association of Grey Bruce Owen Sound says the average price was just over 180 thousand dollars.
That is down 15 per cent from the same month in 2011.
Real Estate agents are encouraged that the number of houses sold in January rose compared with a year ago.
They say the average price fell because there was a significant number of homes selling for under 250 thousand dollars.
At the same time, only 16 homes sold for over 250 thousand dollars last month, compared with 26 homes in the higher price range in January of 2011.
Officials at the Realtors Association believe the dip in average prices will be temporary.
