Brockton is providing three thousand dollars in seed money to help bid a final adieu to Walkerton’s three public schools.
A reunion for all three schools will take place this May to mark the occasion.
Organizers of the Back to the Future Reunion are expecting big numbers for the grand celebration and a final farewell.
One of the organizers Tammi Girdler says the reunion will provide a big economic spinoff with all of the visitors coming back to Walkerton.
In fact, she says they are already booking accommodations.
The May 25th and 26th weekend celebration will include open house at the three schools as well as the new J-K to 12 Walkerton District Community School.
There will also be a golf tournament, roller skating and a Farewell Dance for all alumni.
The School Reunion Committee has vowed to repay Brockton the three thousand dollars in seed money with the profits raised from the event.
All other monies raised will be donated from the Reunion Committee to the new Walkerton District Community School.
As we first told you this week — high school students will move into the new school on April 30th and elementary students will move into the school in September.
