The 2012 Grey Sauble Conservation Authority budget is now final.
The board met on Wednesday and approved the numbers, which were presented earlier to area municipalities in a draft form.
Overall, the budget is 3.3 million dollars with about one third of that coming directly from the municipal governments.
Chair Dick Hibma says two of the six municipalities objected to their “levy” increases, South Bruce peninsula and Chatsworth township.
However, with four out of six approving the hike of six percent on average — the board finalized the numbers.
Hibma blames some of the increase on wage and benefit increases.
However, Hibma says capital costs for 2012 include work on the Owen Sound Mill Dam, removal of the Haines Dam at Clarksburg, and work at the Taylor street retention pond at Wiarton.
