The Owen Sound & District Chamber of Commerce is hosting four special guests for lunch on Thursday.
Again this year they will host a Mayor’s Lunch.
The mayors attending this year are Deb Haswell of Owen Sound, Alan Barfoot from Georgian Bluffs, Francis Richardson from Meaford, and Bob Pringle of Chatsworth.
Chamber Manager Bert Loopstra says they believe that business knows no boundaries and it’s important to present a united front when trying to attract new businesses to the area.
He says these four made some promises at last year’s luncheon that they would work together to find efficiencies in delivering municipal services.
And Loopstra says it’s important to keep taxes competitive for business.
He says Chamber members are hoping for good news on that front, and concrete evidence that this is being worked on.
He says all levels of government are facing challenges to reduce expenditures and work together.
The Mayor’s Luncheon takes place from 11:30 AM until 1:30 PM on Thursday at the Days Inn and Conference Centre in Owen Sound.
